CAD Technician

About the role

The CAD Technician will assist in the drafting and design of construction documents on a variety of municipal and civil transportation projects. Additional assignments may involve processing field data, organizing drawing and file structure, conceptual/preliminary alignment layouts, preparing 3D models with engineers, quantity computations and cost estimates with guidance and supervision.

Requirements

• A Technical school certificate or an associate degree or higher in drafting, design surveying, GIS or combination of relevant coursework and drafting experience
• Understanding and application of drafting methods, standards, and procedures
• Working knowledge of MicroStation drafting and design software
• Working knowledge of Civil 3D
• Working knowledge of Bluebeam or other PDF editor
• Effective written and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with a mentor and as part of a team

Preferred Skills

• Experience with MicroStation Geopak SS10 and/or OpenRoads Designer
• 5 plus years of related drafting experience in Transportation projects
