CAD Drafter

Primary Responsibilities

• Coordinate the collection of data and incorporate this information into drawings, schematics and maps.
• Transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using computer aided design (CAD).
• Collect construction site reports, analyze building codes and make weight, volume and stress calculations for the materials to be used.
• May also lay out interiors, draw landscape and represent the architect at the construction site.
• Create and incorporate mathematical formulas to create component specifications and reproduce their schematics for use within RFM reference materials, such as operations manuals.
• Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
• Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs.

Requirements

• Utilize computer-aided design systems to create technical drawings for building construction and product manufacturing.
• Fills out drawings with specifications, methods and codes.
• Gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.
• Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.

Qualified candidate must:

• Have 3-5 years of related experience, or 2 years of experience plus an associate degree, or additional training or certification.
• Be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Be detailed oriented, organized, and communicate effectively.
• Prioritize meeting deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
• Have knowledge of the industry is recommended.
• Have ability to work and deal diplomatically with all levels of Company personnel.
• Have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office or more.
• Have high school diploma or general education degree (GED), and two years related experience of CAD work or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Pass background screening.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to talk or hear.
• Deskbound role with many hours of computer/digital screen work; however, filing, correlating, reproduction and binding materials are required.
• The ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, bend or stand on a stool, climb stairs as necessary.
