CAD Designer II

About the role
This 100 % on-site CAD Designer will produce pattern designs using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools at Heatcraft’s manufacturing facilities in Stone Mountain or Tifton, Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detail drawings of products from sketches using CAD equipment and associated peripheral equipment and software.
- Follow instructions and procedures.
- Perform non-complex detailing, redrawing, lettering, and tracing of drawings on components, assemblies, and engineering change orders.
- Ensure that drawings incorporate all design features and maintain the product style.
- Contribute design modifications to improve product quality and function.
- Create detailed drawings per Heatcraft standards.
- Modify existing and design new tubing and sheet metal.
- Complete engineering change requests.
- Create and modify Bills of Material.
- Work with cross-functional teams with limited direction to meet customer needs.
Requirements
- Vocational/Technical degree or certification in CAD or a related field (required).
- Associate degree or higher in engineering, design, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- At least 2 years of related experience.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of design tools and principles for producing precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication.
- Knowledge of CNC turret programming, tool selection, and machine setup.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and 3D-CAD.

Pay
This salaried non-exempt role offers a starting salary range of $67,000–$88,000 annually, with eligibility for overtime pay and a bonus under the Company’s applicable plan. Factors affecting starting salary include geography/market and the candidate’s skills, education, experience, and qualifications.
