CAD Designer II

About the role

This 100 % on-site CAD Designer will produce pattern designs using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools at Heatcraft’s manufacturing facilities in Stone Mountain or Tifton, Georgia.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detail drawings of products from sketches using CAD equipment and associated peripheral equipment and software.
• Follow instructions and procedures.
• Perform non-complex detailing, redrawing, lettering, and tracing of drawings on components, assemblies, and engineering change orders.
• Ensure that drawings incorporate all design features and maintain the product style.
• Contribute design modifications to improve product quality and function.
• Create detailed drawings per Heatcraft standards.
• Modify existing and design new tubing and sheet metal.
• Complete engineering change requests.
• Create and modify Bills of Material.
• Work with cross-functional teams with limited direction to meet customer needs.

Requirements

• Vocational/Technical degree or certification in CAD or a related field (required).
• Associate degree or higher in engineering, design, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
• At least 2 years of related experience.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of design tools and principles for producing precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication.
• Knowledge of CNC turret programming, tool selection, and machine setup.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Customer-focused mindset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and 3D-CAD.

Pay

This salaried non-exempt role offers a starting salary range of $67,000–$88,000 annually, with eligibility for overtime pay and a bonus under the Company’s applicable plan. Factors affecting starting salary include geography/market and the candidate’s skills, education, experience, and qualifications.
