CAD Designer, Equipment & Automation - 1st shift

Responsibilities
- Create new part and assembly designs that meet internal stakeholder requirements and are cost effective to produce with external manufacturing partners.
- Utilize extensive knowledge of design tolerances, material properties, and various manufacturing processes to ensure optimal designs for business needs.
- Facilitate design review meetings with stakeholders to seek feedback, assess needs, and convert requests to completed work.
- Create Assembly files with complete Bill of Materials to support manufacturing operations.
- Create Drawing files using correct tolerances, including GD&T, materials of construction, applicable notes, and maintain revision history.
- Check, mark-up, and approve drawings for release.
- Use computer assisted design/drafting software to develop, design, manage, and maintain drawings.
- Maintain the PLM Vault system, ensuring parts and assemblies are up to date and documented correctly in the Quality and Manufacturing systems.

- Prepare and present written and oral reports.
- Follow procedures and maintain detailed records.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for < 5% of a typical working day.
- Ability to work seated for approximately 80% of a typical working day.
- Ability to work standing for approximately 20% of a typical working day.
- Ability to work in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 80% of a typical working day.
- Ability to comply with all applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
- Ability to travel approximately 10% of working time for occasional training, out of state vendor site visits, and travel between Exact Sciences sites.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in CAD or related field with 8 years of experience using Solidworks; or, in lieu of Associate’s degree, a minimum of 10 years of experience using Solidworks.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience of designing parts for machining, forming, and molding manufacturing operations.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience creating assemblies, managing part revisions, and providing documentation for assembly operations.
- Possesses extensive knowledge of engineering design, manufacturing practices, and procedures, and applies this knowledge to complete assignments.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
Skills
- Previous experience with metal and plastic fabrication, including machining, sheet metal and 3D printing.
- Experience using Solidworks Electrical, Simulation, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
- Experience working in manufacturing or engineering environments, applying problem solving skills and process improvements.
- Experience in engineering or relevant life sciences / medical device industry.
- Experience working in an FDA/cGMP/CAP/CLIA regulated production environment.

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible. Pay
$64,000.00 - $105,000.00 The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible.
Schedule
This is an on-site role with some flexibility to work remotely.
