CAD Designer / Drafter - Illustrated Parts List Creator

About the role
We are seeking an Industrial CAD Designer / Drafter to create Illustrated Parts Lists (IPLs) to support our breadth of products. In this role, you will work closely with our product and engineering teams. Using SolidWorks and our PDM system, you will create the IPLs needed for service technicians to reference for service parts required for repairing many different models and types of machines. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a dynamic environment and is looking to get established in a manufacturing company in a technical role adjacent to engineering, which can lead to advancement and more formal roles on our engineering teams.
This position is 100% onsite. Only candidates who can commit to a full-time schedule onsite will be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Responsibilities
- Access existing 3D models via PDM
- Create 2D IPLs from existing (or by creating) 3D SolidWorks models
- Read, edit, modify, and/or create BOMs
- Create parts routings in MAS / SAGE 500
- Write engineering change requests (ECRs) and engineering change orders (ECOs)
- Use SolidWorks, MAS / SAGE 500 software, and product data management (PDM) software to create illustrated parts lists (IPLs)
- Work with bills of materials (BOMs) and internal parts routings
- Complete other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Strong mechanical intuition
- Proficient with SolidWorks 3D modeling and detailing
- Proficient with SolidWorks PDM
- Experience with Microsoft Office software; excellent knowledge of Excel
- Logical thinking with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong desire to learn
- High School diploma or GED (required)
Qualifications
- Technical degree in mechanical design or similar discipline (preferred)
- SolidWorks certification or other similar training and/or certifications (preferred)
- Previous experience in the Outdoor Power Equipment or Power Tools industry (preferred but not required)
- Experience working in a multi-channel retail business/industry (a plus)
