About the role
Supports Manufacturing, Marketing and Materials teams by coordinating all aspects of PCB related functions. Develops panel drawings, PCB packages, Design-For-Manufacturability reviews and PCB layouts. Coordinates directly with Product Engineering Group to address issues and meet specific customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop PCB packages to include all essential files to fabricate PCB’s.
- Develop PCB Quote Checklists supporting business development efforts.
- Manage electronic PCB package sign off process.
- Performs and or coordinates Valor Design-For-Manufacturability reviews.
- Develop and verify parameters for Valor DFM’s reviews.
- Covers the creation of PCB panel drawings based on internal manufacturing requirements.
- Determine the most cost effective yield from a panel based on PCB size and form.
- Communicate to customer specific PCB or PCB related data requirements.
- Communicate with PE/PM/BDM or customer when errors are detected in PCB data or files.
- Work closely with manufacturing to incorporate the latest manufacturing tolerances or process changes into Valor and Design Guidelines.
- Recommend and incorporate updates to TT Electronics Design Guidelines.
- Generate multi-layer PCB layouts via Altium, Cadence or Mentor Graphics.
- Able to perform Gerber edits to correct issues in customer PCB files.
- Communicate and resolve design related issues noted by PCB supplier.
Qualifications, Skills And Attributes
- 3 or more years of CAD layout/design experience.
- Associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering Technology preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience with Valor/Altium or similar CAD software preferred.
- Excellent communication both written and verbal.
- Ability to read and analyze periodicals, business reports, correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
- Strong skills in grammar and proofreading.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as averages, proportions, percentages.
- Utilize general algebraic and geometric tools as well as familiarity with metric units and conversion.
- Ability to collect data, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to maintain a professional and positive image in any situation using good judgment.
- Ability to use office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and business systems software.
- Experience with PCB Design Packages like Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro/OrCAD or Mentor Graphics PADS.
Education/Experience/Credentials
- 3 or more years of CAD layout/design experience.
- Associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering Technology preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience with Valor/Altium or similar CAD software preferred.
