CAD Data Generation & Validation Specialist - Remote

We are seeking experienced CAD Data Generation & Validation Specialists with strong expertise in FreeCAD, parametric modeling, mechanical design, and CAD quality assurance to contribute to an innovative project focused on AI model training. In this role, you will apply your engineering and CAD expertise to create, validate, and document high-quality mechanical CAD data. Your work will help improve how next-generation AI systems understand, generate, evaluate, and reason about engineering designs. No prior AI experience is required—your CAD and engineering expertise is what matters most.

Scope of Work

• Produce, edit, and validate precise parametric CAD models using FreeCAD while maintaining geometric accuracy and engineering best practices.
• Develop a diverse library of mechanical components, assemblies, features, and design variations to support AI dataset creation and model training.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure CAD models reflect real-world engineering and manufacturing standards.
• Conduct detailed CAD quality assurance and validation reviews, identifying and resolving geometric, dimensional, and modeling discrepancies.
• Implement reviewer feedback and revisions efficiently while maintaining consistency across CAD deliverables.
• Use Python scripting, where applicable, to automate repetitive modeling tasks, improve parametrization, and increase CAD data generation efficiency.
• Document modeling workflows, design decisions, validation procedures, and revisions to ensure reproducibility and transparency.
• Evaluate CAD models against manufacturing requirements and engineering design principles to ensure data quality and practical usability.
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation and supporting metadata associated with generated CAD datasets.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in mechanical design, CAD modeling, manufacturing, industrial engineering, or a related field, with strong experience using FreeCAD or comparable parametric CAD software.
• Demonstrated expertise in parametric modeling, mechanical design, and engineering design principles.
• Strong understanding of CAD validation, geometric accuracy, GD&T, and tolerance requirements for real-world manufacturing applications.
• Familiarity with common manufacturing processes and their impact on mechanical component design.
• Experience using Python or CAD scripting to automate modeling workflows is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and a consistent commitment to precision, quality, and data integrity.
• Experience creating and maintaining comprehensive engineering documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to analyze complex CAD data, identify inconsistencies, and implement corrective revisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment.
