Description The Programming Manager leads CNC programming operations to ensure parts are released quickly, accurately, and ready for production. This role is responsible for building a team and system that consistently meets customer demand through speed, quality, and efficient programming practices. This position monitors Fast Pass reports to identify programming trends, works with the Process Architect to improve workflows, and partners with the VP of Manufacturing to drive performance and scalability across all SCS sites. What You’ll Do Lead daily programming operations to meet production schedules and customer demandEnsure programs are accurate, efficient, and production-ready across all CNC platformsImprove programming success each period (day, week, month)Establish and enforce simple, consistent programming standards and best practicesMonitor Fast Pass and production data to identify issues and improve performanceWork with the Process Architect to refine and scale programming processesPartner with Engineering, Production, and Quality to align programming with manufacturing needsSupport new part launches from prototype through productionDrive improvements in cycle time, first-pass yield, and overall throughputSupervise, develop and mentor programmers to build a fast, reliable team Minimum Qualifications 10+ years CNC machining experience (mills and lathes)5+ years CNC programming experience3+ years leadership experienceProficient in CAM software (Mastercam, Hypermill, or similar)Strong understanding of GD&T, tooling, and multi-axis machining Preferred Qualifications Excellent communication skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing technical teamsExperience leading CNC programming teams in a high-mix, fast-paced production environmentProven track record of improving programming throughput, reducing cycle times, and increasing first-pass yieldStrong familiarity with sheet metal, laser cutting, or similar digital manufacturing processes (especially relevant to SCS)Experience developing and standardizing programming workflows, templates, and best practices across teamsAbility to analyze production data (e.g., Fast Pass reports) to identify trends and drive continuous improvementExperience scaling operations across multiple sites or production cellsStrong collaboration skills with engineering, operations, and executive leadership Essential Physical Requirements Ability to move throughout office and manufacturing environments for extended periodsAbility to work in environments with noise, moving equipment, temperature variation, and industrial hazards while following safety protocols Work Environment This role works across office and manufacturing environments and requires regular presence on the shop floor Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) when in manufacturing areasExposure to noise, moving machinery, and metal materials Benefits Medical, Dental, & Vision coveragePaid holidays + PTO401K with company match Tuition reimbursement Paid parental leave Short-term disability Monthly internet stipend Flexible work/life balance Employee discount on parts
