Description As a CAD/CAM Programmer, you will contribute to the development and optimization of our new CNC machining program. This role focuses on programming with Autodesk Fusion and using AI-assisted tools to enhance machining efficiency through Design for Manufacturability (DFM) checks, toolpath creation, and tabbing strategies for both 3+2 and 5-axis operations. You’ll play a key role in shaping our approach to CNC machining by combining strong CAD/CAM programming skills with curiosity and adaptability. What You’ll Do Use software like Autodesk Fusion, CAMplete, and others to perform DFM checks and optimize customer designs for efficient and cost-effective manufacturingReview customer models to plan machining strategy, including tool selection, feed speeds and operation sequencingCreate, refine, and validate CAM programs for 3+2 and 5-axis machining using simulation and test runs to ensure accuracy and print complianceDevelop effective tabbing and fixturing strategies to secure parts during machining Monitor orders through production, troubleshoot machining or program issues, and ensure finished parts meet SendCutSend quality standardsWork closely with our design and manufacturing teams to improve workflows, share feedback, and continuously evolve our processes Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalentAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively in EnglishUnderstanding of DFM principles and their application in CNC machiningStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsBasic knowledge of CNC programming, tool selection, feeds, and speedsComfortable troubleshooting machining and program issues independentlyAble and willing to work with your hands in a mechanical way Preferred Qualifications Experience with CNC milling, both 3 axis, 3+2, 5-axis machining Proficiency in Autodesk Fusion and AI-assisted CAM toolsExperience validating and testing CAM programs through simulation or trial runsFamiliarity with G code, M code, or other numeric control languagesAbility to modify programs to improve efficiency and adapt to design changesExperience collaborating with design or manufacturing teams to optimize production workflows Essential Physical Requirements Ability to repeatedly lift 25 lbs and lift up to 50 lbsAbility to stand and walk for 10 to 12 hour shiftsAbility to bend, reach, and work around large industrial equipmentAbility to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.Ability to use a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment for remote work.
