CAD/CAM Administrator
POSITION SUMMARY
LSI SOLUTIONS® is a dynamic and growing medical device company seeking a passionate CAD/CAM Administrator to join our energetic team. This role combines multiple responsibilities within the IT Department, focusing on CAD/CAM expertise, software administration, and IT support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide user support for CAD/CAM applications and engineering software; assist with Autodesk Vault file management activities.
Support CAD workstation configuration and deployment.
Aid in CAD/CAM software installations, updates, and licensing.
Troubleshoot CAD/CAM and workstation issues.
Aid in maintaining CAD standards documentation.
Assist with drafting standards compliance reviews.
Provide desktop support for engineering teams as needed.
Administer Autodesk Vault file management for CAD/CAM files.
Provide training on CAD file management practices and Autodesk Vault usage.
Support CAD/CAM application updates, patches, and upgrades.
Aid in CAD file migrations and system upgrades.
Maintain CAD workstation standards and configurations.
Troubleshoot advanced CAD/CAM application issues.
Support CAD data interoperability and translation processes.
Maintain CAD/CAM licensing.
Contribute to drafting standards development and compliance efforts.
Provide engineering desktop support as required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the selection of processes, materials, and vendors related to the CAD/CAM environment.
Evaluate and recommend new processes, software, and equipment related to the CAD/CAM environment.
Research new software solutions for CAD/CAM and ERP integration.
Create and roll out training curricula, technical presentations, and reports.
Review drawings and DCRs for standards compliance and Vault status as needed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
CAD/CAM Administrator II: Associate degree in Information Technology, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field with 3–5 years of related experience OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2–3 years of related experience.
CAD/CAM Administrator III: Associate degree in a related field with 5+ years of related experience OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 4+ years of related experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
CAD/CAM Administrator II: Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Inventor, basic understanding of engineering drawings, familiarity with Windows operating systems, strong troubleshooting and customer service skills, proficiency with Autodesk Vault, experience with Inventor and AutoCAD, working knowledge of CAM software, understanding of machining and fabrication workflows, experience supporting engineering environments.
CAD/CAM Administrator III: Expert proficiency with Autodesk Vault, advanced proficiency with Inventor and 3D CAD systems, strong knowledge of manufacturing workflows and CAM processes, experience managing CAD standards and data governance, ability to lead system implementations and migrations.
