CAD/BIM Modeler

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and maintain detailed electrical BIM models for commercial construction projects
• Develop shop drawings, installation drawings, layout plans, and prefabrication drawings from construction documents
• Perform clash detection using BIM software and coordinate with other trades to resolve design conflicts before installation
• Review electrical plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure model accuracy and constructability
• Produce conduit layouts, sleeve drawings, hanger details, equipment layouts, and other installation support documents
• Collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, engineers, architects, and VDC teams throughout each project
• Participate in coordination meetings and incorporate design revisions, RFIs, and field updates into project models
• Maintain accurate BIM models throughout construction and assist with as-built documentation upon project completion
• Ensure all models and drawings comply with company BIM standards, project requirements, and quality expectations
• Meet project deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a BIM Modeler, Electrical Detailer, VDC Designer, or in a similar role
• Experience modeling electrical systems for commercial construction projects
• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
• Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, conduit routing, equipment layouts, and installation practices
• Experience with clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination
• Average of 2 years of commercial electrical construction experience
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
