Responsibilities
- Create relevant 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings of various equipment, equipment integration, plant layout, structures, systems and/or components (based on assigned project).
- Prepare and update manufacturing drawings.
- Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation (e.g., drawings, bills of materials, lists of design parameters, and performance guarantees) for current and future reference.
- Collaborate in planning, scheduling, and organization of detailed phases of engineering work.
- Maintain system and model compatibility in X-energy’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and Plant Design Environments (PDE), including the 3D CAD applications.
- Lead the execution of the core tasks and responsibilities, listed in the Job Profile Task/Responsibilities section of this document, without close supervision and some latitude for independent judgment.
- Provide feedback and guidance to more junior team members with the execution of the core tasks and responsibilities listed in the Job Profile Task/Responsibilities section of this document.
- Lead small groups of designers to solve complex technical problems and deliver high quality engineering work products on time and within budget.
Requirements
- Average of 10 years of experience in a CAD/3D drafter/designer role.
- Experience using 3D CAD software (e.g. UG/NX, SolidWorks, PTC Creo/Pro-E, or similar).
- Experience using 2D CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SmartPlant Electrical, Microstation, Revit, or similar).
- Understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards.
- Experience analyzing, drafting, designing, and specifying electrical and power systems, according to design standards and techniques.
- Experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software (e.g. Teamcenter, Windchill, or similar).
- 3-5 years of Smartplant Electrical experience (highly desired).
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in drafting, CAD, engineering or related degree from an accredited institution or High School Diploma and experience in a role with similar tasks/responsibilities noted above.
- Experience and/or knowledge in a minimum of one of the following areas (based on assigned type of project): Experience using 3D CAD software (e.g. UG/NX, SolidWorks, PTC Creo/Pro-E, or similar). Experience using 2D CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SmartPlant Electrical, Microstation, Revit, or similar). Understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards. Experience analyzing, drafting, designing, and specifying electrical and power systems, according to design standards and techniques. Experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software (e.g. Teamcenter, Windchill, or similar).
Skills
