Cable Technician
About the role
This contract position involves installing and relocating Cisco access points in standard office and school buildings. Work includes unboxing equipment, patching to switches, running and pulling Cat6a cable, terminating and dressing cables, mounting APs, and providing daily progress updates.
Responsibilities
- Unbox APs and patch to switches upon arrival
- Run cable to location, terminate, and mount new APs
- Install new APs to locations where existing APs are to be moved
- Send updates daily
- Pull Cat6a cable
- Terminate, dress, and organize cable in cabinet
- Mount Cisco APs (mounting is plug-and-play)
Environment
Standard office and school buildings with approximately 10-foot ceilings typically.

Equipment & site setup
Materials provided onsite include cable, termination kits, velcro, and mounting hardware. Some sites may require lifts (identified ahead of time). Technicians must be comfortable with ladders and heights if needed.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
