Cable Technician - 176378

About the role

Piper Companies is seeking a Cable Technician for a large data center build in Red Oak, TX. This position is fully on‑site, working 12‑hour shifts (day shift or night shift), 7 days a week. The project is expected to run through February 2027, with potential extension into March/April.

Responsibilities

• Install and test low‑voltage cable, including fiber optics and copper
• Interpret blueprints and schematics
• Build and install telecom room components including racks, grounding, bonding, etc.
• Test various cable types using Flukes or other testing methods
• Follow all safety requirements and regulations

Requirements

• 1‑2+ years of experience in installing, pulling, terminating, and testing cable
• Must have all required PPE and safety equipment
• Must have, or be willing to obtain, OSHA 10 certification
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and crawl/bend/stretch into tight spaces
• Must be eligible to work in the United States for any employer
• Team lead experience is a plus

Pay

Hourly rate: $20‑25/hr (depending on experience)
