Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Cable Supervisor to join the Power Bus Way Team in Union, OH. This is a 'working supervisor' position where you will oversee cable cutting operations while also working alongside your team on machines and in shipping/receiving for a significant portion of the day.

About the role

The Cable Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing cable cutting operations, ensuring all work is completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. This leadership position requires experience in cable systems, a strong technical background, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with cable cutting teams, programmers, shipping, receiving, purchasing, and quality control to meet company standards and customer expectations. Safety, quality control, and leadership are central to success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage cable cutters while ensuring all work is completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Train and motivate a team of cable cutters to meet performance standards and deadlines.
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with company, industry, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor the use and maintenance of cable cutting machines, tools, and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and report any issues or concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to all quality, safety regulations, protocols, SWI’s, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with programmers, shipping, receiving, purchasing, quality control, and other departments to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all processes in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Act as the first line of defense for production technology by troubleshooting daily hardware issues (e.g., printer errors, tablet resets, connectivity glitches).
  • Demonstrate proactive leadership by diagnosing root causes of equipment or process failures.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and use logic to solve complex operational problems independently.
  • Apply critical thinking and rapid problem-solving to minimize downtime and resolve workflow bottlenecks.
  • Maintain an agile mindset and perform tasks outside the standard scope when necessary to prevent bottlenecks and keep production flowing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with cable systems or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook) for real-time communication, digital shift handovers, and incident reporting.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly.
  • Must wear required PPE (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, long sleeves, long pants) and work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot machinery, technology, and logistical issues.
