Cabinet Builders

Responsibilities

• Attach parts and subassemblies together to form completed units, using glue, dowels, nails, screws, and/or clamps
• Operate gluing machines to glue pieces of wood together, or to press and affix wood veneer to wood surfaces
• Unclamp work pieces and remove them from machines
• Use hand and power tools to install various components in the manufacturing of cabinets
• Bore holes for insertion of screws or dowels, by hand or using boring machines
• Install hardware such as hinges, handles, catches, and drawer pulls, using hand tools
• Verify dimensions, and check the quality and fit of pieces in order to ensure adherence to specifications

Requirements

• Experience in woodworking or carpentry preferred
• Knowledge of how to add and subtract measurements
• Proficient with reading measuring devices to include tape measures, straight ruler, and levels
• Able to identify proper tools needed to complete tasks and use them effectively
