About the role

Join one of the nation’s most respected healthcare teams at Cleveland Clinic! We are seeking experienced Anesthesiologist Assistants to join our Multi-Specialty Anesthesiology Division at our Main Campus in Cleveland, Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Administers anesthesia to patients rendering them insensitive to pain during surgery.
  • Maintains a comprehensive patient history and performs relevant elements of a physical exam.
  • Discusses findings and anesthetic plan with supervising anesthesiologist before induction of anesthesia.
  • Reviews the patient's condition with the anesthesiologist immediately prior to the induction of anesthesia.
  • Pretests and calibrates anesthesia delivery systems.
  • Administers blood, blood products and supportive fluids.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as an Anesthesiologist Assistant in a hospital inpatient environment, preferably involving high-acuity cases, is strongly preferred.
  • Schedule: Multiple scheduling options available. Infrequent weekend and holiday obligations. In-house call required only 4–5 times per year (3pm–7am), as part of regular weekly hours. Opportunities to pick up extra shifts for additional income.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher from an institution of higher learning accredited by an organization recognized by the board of regents.
  • Certifications: Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants. Current, valid certificate of registration. Written practice protocol consistent with section 4760.09 of the Revised Code. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) are required.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Pay Range

Minimum Annual Salary: $230,000.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $299,000.00
