Reports to: Department Manager with direction from Team Leader

3rd Shift Position (6:45 pm – 6:45 am) – 12-hour work schedule with rotating 2-days on/2-days off and every other weekend (2-2-3). Starting pay: $27.86–$34.07/hour, with the ability to earn more.

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Die Repair Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will maintain, repair, and improve dies used in the aluminum extrusion process, ensuring optimal performance and product quality. You will work closely with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot die-related issues, perform routine inspections, and conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime. Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection, repair, and maintenance of aluminum extrusion dies to ensure proper functionality and quality output.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to die performance and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize die design and manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain documentation related to die repair activities, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
  • Operate precision tools and machinery such as grinders, welders, and measuring instruments safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to extend the lifespan of extrusion dies and reduce manufacturing downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies while performing all tasks.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians in die repair techniques and best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in die repair and maintenance within the aluminum extrusion manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of metalworking processes, including grinding, welding, and machining.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Proficient with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in repairing complex dies.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and document work performed.
  • Must pass company background check and drug screen.
