C++ Software Engineer
About the role
The Air Combat and Strike Mission Analysis Group seeks a motivated software engineer to develop innovative modeling and simulation (M&S) applications supporting the development of next-generation strike weapons, combat air vehicles, and other critical capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance C++ modeling and simulation capabilities representing radar, tracking, engagement, and related mission-system behaviors.
- Deliver software tools enabling analysts to assess military utility, system requirements, and capability tradeoffs for air dominance and strike systems.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and analysts to build, adapt, and integrate software for applications, infrastructure, and user interfaces.
- Define requirements, design, develop, test, integrate, deliver, and maintain M&S tools.
Qualifications
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Have a demonstrated record of developing robust, maintainable software using modern C++ 17 or newer.
- Communicate effectively with end-users about technical issues and new software capabilities.
- Willing and able to learn new concepts and grow your personal skill set.
- Able to obtain an Interim Secret security clearance and ultimately a Top Secret level clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in a related technical field.
- Proficient using Git, CMake, and Conan.
- Experience with DevSecOps, especially using GitLab or Docker.
- Experience with GoogleTest (GTest) for unit and regression testing code.
- Experience with AFSIM’s simulation framework and developing plugins for it.
- Experience with Tracking and Filtering, Data Fusion, RF, or Electronic Warfare.
- Familiarity with Java, Python, or MATLAB.
