We are the ArcGIS Spatial Analyst team—engineers who build advanced raster analysis capabilities used worldwide to uncover patterns, solve spatial problems, and drive better decisions. As a C++ Software Developer, you will help design and implement next-generation raster analytics that run on both desktop and cloud platforms, leveraging modern GPU and distributed computing.

Responsibilities

  • Transform cutting-edge research and advanced concepts into high-performance, scalable analytical tools across key GIS domains:
    • Spatial modeling and suitability analysis
    • Terrain and surface analysis (e.g., intervisibility, geomorphometric)
    • Pattern and density analysis
    • Statistical analysis
    • Hydrologic analysis
    • Multidimensional scientific data modeling and analysis
  • Partner with a collaborative team to conceptualize, design, and deliver innovative GIS solutions that address complex real-world challenges
  • Architect and implement robust software components using industry-standard design principles and best practices
  • Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve software defects and performance bottlenecks through automated testing and optimization

Requirements

  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in C++ software development
  • Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns
  • Excellent problem-solving, design, development, and debugging skills
  • Familiarity with distributed systems, parallel processing, and GPU-accelerated computing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related STEM field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience with C# and WPF application development
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and test-driven development (TDD) practices
  • Experience with GIS, raster analysis, and spatial analysis concepts
  • Strong foundation in mathematics and science, with experience in scientific computing for raster analysis
  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related STEM field

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $101,192 USD – $167,336 USD. Compensation decisions take into account skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and business and organizational needs.
