Summary Statement

This position involves nursing and oversight of residents' nursing needs during trips, community outings, and in-house activities. Key responsibilities include administering treatments, taking vital signs, managing medications, providing direct care, and coordinating health care services. Regular interactions with residents, families, and various departments are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Administers treatments as directed.
  • Takes and records vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration).
  • Pours, administers, charts, and records medications.
  • Gives prescribed intramuscular and subcutaneous injections and inoculations.
  • Observes patient behavior and condition and reports changes to appropriate staff.
  • Records information on patients' charts.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse I

    • Delaware Practical Nurse license, Delaware temporary license, or multi-state compact license.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse II

    • Delaware Practical Nursing license or multi-state compact license.
    • At least six months experience as a Practical Nurse.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse III

    • Delaware Practical Nursing license or multi-state compact license.
    • At least eighteen months experience as a Practical Nurse.
