C/S Custodial Worker
About the role
Join our team as a Custodial Worker at the DE Hospital for the Chronically Ill! In this vital position, you'll ensure all housekeeping services are maintained without interruption. Duties include cleaning various floors and walls by mopping, scrubbing, waxing, shampooing, and vacuuming. You'll also empty trash, disinfect bathrooms, and operate a variety of custodial equipment such as wet/dry mops, vacuums, scrubbers, carpet shampooers, and buffers.
Essential functions
- Performs custodial work using protective and other equipment and techniques in compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures promoting safety and health of clients, visitors, property, or institutions.
- Cleans walls, floors, carpets and other interior building components by mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and shampooing or vacuuming.
- Uses brooms, wet or dry mops, ladders, brushes, scrapers, pails or buckets, and mixtures of water and chemical solutions or disinfectant.
- Dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures, and cleans windows, glass partitions, or mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
- Empties and cleans wastebaskets, garbage containers, and ashtrays and may sweep sidewalks and patios, shovel snow, and pick up trash.
- Cleans and disinfects a variety of surfaces, areas, and equipment such as bathrooms, kitchens, and kitchen appliances, or client, clinic, or examination rooms.
- Maintains, replenishes, or replaces various supplies such as light bulbs, soap, paper, or linens.
- Moves and arranges furniture and hangs drapes and window shades.
- Uses automated information systems and computer software to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve, or report on data.
- Operates a variety of mechanical custodial equipment such as vacuums, scrubbers, carpet shampooers, and buffers.
- Completes and maintains competency in required training.

Pay
This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.
Schedule
The shift hours are 7:00am - 3:00pm; Weekends/Holidays Required.
