About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering leader in our Core Brokerage group to lead the technical aspects of designing, implementing, and testing various initiatives. This role involves significant engineering ownership in complex server-side applications, including new feature development, code improvements, and active participation in product design and delivery. The incumbent will work within the Middle Office Core Platform Organization to drive product development, including requirement gathering and technical solutioning.

Responsibilities

• Lead a technical team to design and implement highly reliable, scalable, extensible, maintainable, global, and operable products and platforms.
• Draft and review architectural diagrams, interface specifications, class structures, and other design documents.
• Build systems that balance resources, constraints, requirements, and complexity.
• Present opportunities with cost/benefit analysis to leadership to shape architectural strategy decisions.
• Evangelize technologies, solutions, and best practices developed within the organization.
• Develop department-wide technical perspectives, standards, solutions, and strategies to resolve significant product or organizational pain points.
• Participate in a network of principal engineers to share ideas, practices, and experiences.
• Work closely with product management and development teams to solve complex engineering problems.
• Lead and mentor other back-end engineers while staying hands-on with implementation to remain current with technology trends.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in either Golang or Java/J2EE, Python, and C++.
• Expertise in software development principles, including design patterns, data structures, and continuous integration/deployment architecture.
• Solid experience working with either Golang or Java.
• Knowledge of multiple languages (e.g., Go, Java, C++, JavaScript) is a plus.
• Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, and C/C++.
• Familiarity with batch scripts (Perl, KSH).
• Good understanding of web services protocols such as REST, SOAP, IDL, gRPC, and API design for extensibility and portability.
• Experience writing SQL queries for Sybase, Oracle, or other relational databases.
• Proficiency in OOD and SOA principles.
• Experience working in a UNIX environment, including knowledge of Perl and UNIX-based shell scripts.
• Working knowledge of cloud, service mesh, and containers.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with SCRUM, Agile, and iterative development approaches is a plus.
• Ability to work as a team player, think creatively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay

Salary Range: $90,000–$100,000 a year.
