About the role
The Ford Purchasing team adds critical value to the entire organization. You’ll help us source the highest quality parts and services from around the globe while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. You’ll also contribute to establishing a robust supply chain so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want.
Responsibilities
- Manage cost, quality, and material efficiencies (Total Value Management) over program lifetime.
- Understand and set cost savings goals annually to identify pure commercial leverage versus design efficiencies and end-to-end supply chain improvements.
- Work with the strategic Category Manager and Product Development to understand latest supply base footprint, financial health ratings, technologies, and trends.
- Align on sourcing to materials, component, and part requirements.
- Conduct regular design reviews with engineering.
- Sourcing execution lead (RFx event, tactical sourcing, spot buy, contract admin, etc.).
- Implement sourcing strategy for category, delivering a balanced portfolio of material that meets Ford’s capacity, cost, timing, and ESG (Environmental , Social, Governance) needs.
- Develop material cost roadmaps that deliver corporate objectives and ensure long-term viability.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelors Degree
- 3 years of automotive purchasing experience
- Proficiency in Purchasing systems and procedures
- Extremely high energy with a relentless pursuit of learning and development to drive commodity expertise
- Ability to influence senior executives to drive decision-making
- Ability to develop and successfully execute negotiations strategy
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes a plus

Pay
This position is a range of salary grades 6-8 and ranges from $63,480-$166,200. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
Schedule
This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
