Buyer/Procurement Analyst

Sources, Negotiates and Purchases

• Purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization.
• Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.
• Maintains supplier performance by monitoring supplier operations.
• Monitors performance by compiling information to stay informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.
• Evaluates opportunities by leveraging material acquisitions.

Negotiates and Analyzes Suppliers

• Negotiates with suppliers to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
• Analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors affecting prices.

Supports Decision Making

• Prepares request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.
• Reviews proposals and negotiates prices.
• Selects or recommends suppliers based on analysis of trends.
• Follows up on orders placed, verifies delivery, and approves payment.
• Maintains necessary records to track data on price trends and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Entry level candidates with data entry experience.
• At least 1 year experience in creating and using Excel worksheets.
• Must have a secret clearance.
