Buyer Planner I - 2nd Shift

Collaborate with Fleet Maintenance Operations to review and process purchase requisitions for materials and services, ensuring the right order quantity, required lead-time, and adherence to the organization’s procurement standard operating procedures. Engage with maintenance and purchasing supervision to support sourcing plans, special projects, and execute tactical supply chain actions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a continuous supply of materials and services by placing and managing purchase orders.
  • Engage with suppliers on basic negotiations and pricing oversight to maintain a competitive supply chain.
  • Collaborate with Buyer-Planners II/III, maintenance staff, and suppliers on warranty recovery.
  • Facilitate inventory systems set forth by the procurement organization.
  • Monitor, record, and manage inventory of purchased components within assigned areas of responsibility, including year-end inventory reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s standard purchase terms and conditions and communicate these requirements to suppliers.
  • Assist maintenance technicians with parts dispensing to fulfill repair work-orders and perform inventory reconciliation.
  • Occasional travel (under 3%) for emergencies, such as retrieving parts from suppliers or cross-campus locations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in any area of study is required, preferably in business.
  • At least one (1) year of purchasing and/or material planning experience; three (3) years preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred but not required.
  • Relevant knowledge of service centers for medium/heavy-duty fleet, equipment, and parts management.
  • Excellent communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to aggregate and analyze large data sets.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Schedule

This position is second shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM).
