Buyer (LSNA-NC/PA)

As a Buyer for Life Sciences North America, you will be responsible for purchasing standard to complex equipment and materials. The Buyer may act as lead on small Projects (Projects with a Total Installed Cost of $50M, or less) while using best practices and knowledge of requirements to solve basic problems and handle day-to-day Purchasing tasks with minimal guidance and direction.

Responsibilities

• Purchase standard to complex equipment and materials
• Act as lead on small Projects (Projects with a Total Installed Cost of $50M, or less)
• Solve basic problems and handle day-to-day Purchasing tasks with minimal guidance and direction
• Leverage your passion and experience as you perform procurement transactions associated with purchasing materials/equipment as assigned
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of procurement concepts, principles and practices
• Ensure task completion through the techniques of ensuring task completion
• Understand the role of procurement and its integration with other project functions
• Achieve value-added expectations
• Perform assignments in accordance with established policies and procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a business, construction, supply chain, or operations management, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
• 4+ years of experience in capital equipment purchasing
• 2+ years of experience in Biopharmaceutical/Life Science Manufacturing Projects is preferred
• Travel - Anticipated travel 10-20% of the time

Qualifications

• Experience using MS Office tools, including intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work and thrive in a team environment
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• A drive to solve complex and challenging problems

Skills

• Experience in capital equipment purchasing
• Experience in Biopharmaceutical/Life Science Manufacturing Projects
• Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $80,900.00 to $135,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
