Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Create annual business plans to achieve cost reduction targets and drive year-over-year performance improvements.
- Negotiate and manage supply agreements focused on improvements in cost, delivery, quality, lead times, technology, payment terms, and risk mitigation.
- Proactively initiate contract renewal and renegotiation activities prior to expiration dates to maximize commercial advantages.
- Maintain awareness of market conditions, industry trends, and key cost drivers affecting assigned commodities.
- Obtain, analyze, and evaluate supplier quotations to determine best value and recommend sourcing decisions based on data-driven assessments.
- Conduct RFIs and RFQs to support sourcing initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to leverage global purchasing volumes and enhance sourcing efficiencies.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure achievement of quality, delivery, cost, and service objectives.
- Lead supplier selection activities and coordinate supplier transitions as needed.
- Ensure supplier compliance with contractual requirements and company standards.
- Track, report, and communicate commodity-related metrics and performance results.
- Support departmental and corporate objectives through effective commodity management.
- Present project updates, sourcing recommendations, and special assignment results to management.
Education And Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and professionalism in representing Dana internally and externally.
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 10%.
- Experience in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and commodity management within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with forging commodities, supplier performance management, and cost analysis methodologies.
- Knowledge of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principles and strategic sourcing processes.
