Responsible for purchasing all components needed to construct, repair, or replace Valmet equipment. This role primarily involves handling smaller-value projects, including complete contract (CC Projects) and commodity-based purchases. A key aspect of this position is leveraging advanced Excel skills for data analysis and supporting the team with accurate data maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the procurement of materials according to the project schedule.
- Create purchase orders in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy in project requirements such as liquidated damages (LDs), shipping modes, and manufacturing schedules.
- Obtain supplier acknowledgments promptly to confirm pricing and delivery terms.
- Expedite or defer deliverables as needed to meet project requirements.
- Prepare forecast and inventory analysis reports, actively seeking opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate and expedite all open purchase orders.
- Plan and implement all necessary actions, regularly perform shortage analysis to ensure material availability supports company and project objectives.
- Stay informed of schedule priorities and any internal or external changes.
- Negotiate improved delivery schedules when needed.
- Serve as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal teams for assigned open purchase orders.
- Communicate supplier manufacturing schedules to the Quality department to facilitate inspection planning.
- Provide required documentation to support logistics.
- Complete necessary SAP steps to facilitate shipments.
- Follow up with suppliers on preliminary packing lists and shipment readiness.
- Maintain accurate records of expediting and coordination activities.
- Continuously focus on improving expediting, scheduling, and shipping processes.
- Notify the supervisor about workload status and potential problem areas.
- Analyze and maintain supply chain data.
- Identify and correct data errors promptly.
- Create and maintain purchasing records, providing clear and timely reports.
- Oversee the entire project execution, from purchase order (PO) creation to expediting for on-time delivery, including daily visits to the workshop to monitor subcontract order status.
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous purchasing or buyer experience.
- Strong skills in data analysis using Microsoft Excel; advanced proficiency is essential.
- Familiarity with Power BI is a plus.
- Strong ability to handle data processing and analysis.
- On-site work required, including daily visits to the workshop.

Pay
Generous wage starting between $85,000–$92,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on market data, internal equity, and candidate credentials.
