About the role

We’re looking for a Buyer to develop and execute sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance for key projects and initiatives across RMS Energy’s Divisions. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services required to support successful project execution. The Buyer will manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and terms, evaluate sourcing opportunities, and ensure materials meet quality and delivery requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, market analysis, and supplier assessments to drive cost savings, mitigate risk, and optimize the supply chain.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for complex, high-value, and multi-division projects while balancing cost, quality, delivery, and supplier capacity.
  • Lead RFP/RFQ processes, vendor selection, and contract negotiations to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with key material and equipment suppliers, serving as the primary escalation point for supplier issues.
  • Partner with Estimating to analyze vendor bids, develop competitive project pricing, and support successful proposal development.
  • Manage procurement activities from purchase order through delivery, proactively expediting critical and long-lead materials to keep projects on schedule.
  • Monitor supplier performance and lead corrective actions related to quality, delivery, pricing, capacity, and contractual requirements.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement and strategic sourcing initiatives that reduce costs, improve efficiency, and strengthen supplier performance.
  • Monitor industry trends, material availability, pricing, and market conditions to anticipate risks and identify sourcing opportunities.
  • Provide management with insights and reporting on procurement performance, cost savings, supplier performance, project status, and risks.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual requirements, regulatory standards, and applicable safety requirements.
  • Participate in project and production meetings, safety audits, and other activities necessary to support successful project execution.
  • Maintain accurate procurement and project documentation and ensure timely and accurate project time reporting.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relations with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory requirements in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Must successfully complete a background check and pre-employment/random drug tests.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or related field preferred.
  • CSCP, CPSM, or PMI Certifications preferred, but not required.
  • Experience sourcing materials in the power/energy or construction sector.
  • Knowledge of procurement for field-based projects and rotating equipment.
  • Hands-on familiarity with estimating support and RFP workflows.
