Buyer II

About the role

CPI AdamWorks in Centennial, Colorado, has a need for a Senior Buyer to join our staff. We design and build composite structures for aircraft, defense, and space and would love you to consider joining our team!

Responsibilities

• Primary Liaison between CPI and our suppliers
• Source parts required (production and facility) from suppliers
• Aid Engineering with the qualification of new suppliers identified in sourcing efforts
• Create and maintain purchase orders
• Pull all documentation and send out quote requests to suppliers
• Evaluate supplier quotes and award accordingly
• Work with Planning to dispose of excess and obsolete material
• Aid Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies
• Resolve and/or escalate supplier-related issues in a timely manner
• Help resolve issues and answer questions from other CPI employees
• Support Business Development efforts by preparing costed BOMs for quotes
• Develop and implement supply chain automation
• Perform other tasks and duties as required

Qualifications

• Working experience with ERP and/or MRP systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
• Working knowledge of item attributes and their effects on MRP messages
• Excellent organizational skills
• In-depth knowledge/understanding of Government contractor purchasing requirements
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Associate or bachelor’s degree and/or APICS certification a plus
• 5 to 7 years’ experience as a Buyer within a manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements

• Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
• Ability to work seated at a computer for long periods of time
• Ability to go onto the shop floor and other departments as needed

Pay

$60,000 - $70,000 Annually
