About The Opportunity

The Buyer I supports day-to-day purchasing activities, including processing purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure materials are available to support production. Working under guidance from senior buyers, Buyer I gains hands-on experience with ERP systems, supplier communication, and manufacturing supply processes while building foundational procurement and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Executes purchase orders and manages routine buying activities
• Supports expediting, order tracking, and issue resolution
• Maintains data accuracy in ERP/MRP systems
• Works under close supervision
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing operations experience
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future
• Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field
• Aerospace and/or manufacturing experience
• Strong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and other process optimization tools to drive efficiency and readiness
• Familiarity with MRP messages, purchase requirements, deferring/requesting material based on suggested need dates, and an understanding of Bill of Materials
• Experience working and communicating with suppliers
• Ability to manage cross-functional and matrixed teams and drive collaboration across departments
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment requires you to pivot and adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions
• Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization

Working Conditions

• Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment
• Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds
• Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
• Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules
