About the role
The Buyer I will oversee the Procurement functions at Kratos SRE, Inc., Huntsville, AL. A purchasing professional with a high level of diversified knowledge and experience in procurement and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze purchase requisitions.
- Develop RFQ’s utilizing specifications, statements of work, or other requirements documents as appropriate.
- Prepare bid packages, analyze and evaluate proposals and quotes, negotiate purchase order price and terms.
- Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity.
- Administer purchase orders to ensure supplier on-time delivery and compliance with order terms.
- Manage purchase order performance and ensure compliance with all applicable public laws and corporate policies.
- Identify strategies and opportunities to reduce cost and improve efficiency while managing risk.
- Manage vendors.
- Provide FAR/DFAR and corporate policy interpretation and guidance to less experienced procurement personnel.
- Assist with resolving complex procurement issues.
- Generate procurement and compliance related reports as needed.
- Assist with continuous improvement of procurement and compliance related manuals, policies, forms, and training materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 2 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience with Costpoint preferred.
- Prior experience with CPSR preparation and audits.
- A demonstrated track record of achieving substantial cost-savings.
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as mandated by company and government requirements.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with peers, supervisors, and public, including maintaining respect for others and following company policies.
- Willingness and ability to learn and utilize company technology for required purposes (e.g., training, reviewing and signing policies and procedures, benefits enrollment and changes).
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Office environment.
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
Travel may be required.
