About the role
We are a manufacturer of structural parts for the leading original equipment manufacturers (OEM's) in the large business and regional jet markets. The Buyer position offers level 1, 2, 3 & Senior, with the wage scale provided reflecting level 1 - 2. Under minimal supervision, the Buyer 2 purchases goods and services in support of production, facilities, and personnel, on behalf of the Company.
Responsibilities
The Buyer 2 works closely with Master Scheduling and Supplier Development, and responsibilities include:
- Upholding customer and industry quality standards (AS9100)
- Following cost reduction/containment policies and procedures
- Maintaining and controlling suppliers/vendors within approval guidelines
- Communicating with User departments to ensure their requirements are met
- Issuing purchase orders for production materials and services
- Purchasing ‘non-contracted’ items as required
- Ensuring all requirements are specified and properly reflected in purchasing documents
- Establishing, maintaining, and providing status reports on supplier/vendor purchase orders
- Identifying and conveying supplier-associated risk(s) to Supplier Development buyers and Supply Chain management
- Resolving problems related to purchasing, delivery, receiving, and payment to the supplier
- Compiling miscellaneous reports as requested by Supply Chain management
- Assisting in the training of employees in the Buyer I position(s)
- Following all safety guidelines established by the Company
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:

- Teamwork: Collaborate with Supplier Development buyers and Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality Department
- Company policy awareness: Understand and comply with Company policies and guidelines
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related curriculum; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Five (5) years of purchasing or related technical experience
- Good knowledge in purchasing methods and techniques
- Capable of working within the various software applications utilized throughout the organization
- Intermediate skills with MS Office products and keyboarding
- Aerospace related experience
- Five (5) years’ experience in Material Requirements Planning (MRP/ERP)
- APICS training/certification in Basics of Supply Chain Management
Work Environment and Physical Demands
The physical demands of this role include:
- Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 35% of the time
- Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and vapor from coolant in the warehouse and/or machine shop environment
- Ability to use computer keyboard and mouse, multi-line phone, and various other office machines and equipment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and correctable vision to 20/25

Pay
The salary offering is $25.75 per hour to $39.50 per hour, with a shift available Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm.
