About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join our team on a Full Time, Permanent basis with a Hybrid work schedule! The role is based at our Hicksville, Long Island NY offices.
Responsibilities
- Strategic procurement operations within the aligned business area.
- Partner the Category Manager in delivery of Category strategies.
- Share supply chain insight and recommendations with NG business units.
- Award Contracts from leading strategic sourcing events.
- Lead commercial negotiations and draft contracts.
- Engage at senior levels of the organization to ensure delivery of business priorities.
- Procure high value, business critical goods and services.
- Engage and build strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business, within procurement, and externally.
- Develop and deliver strategic sourcing events.
- Support the overall development and delivery of assigned category strategy.
- Deliver value by effectively managing tender events for key products.
- Manage contracted activities and identify continuous improvement category opportunities.
- Maximize value for money from contracts awarded.
- Model excellence in procurement standards and provide guidance to Buyers and Associate Buyers.
- Identify future requirements and ensure robust forecasting.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent experience in relevant field.
- Significant experience of strategic sourcing and category management.
- Proficient in Excel, Powerpoint, and MS office applications.
- Understanding of project management principles and evidence of managing multiple projects.
- Ability to prepare for and lead negotiations.
- Ability to travel to multiple locations across Long Island as needed.
- Experience of contract development, including the ability to make recommendations and amendments to existing contracts and draft new ones.
