Duties & Responsibilities
- Administers purchase orders from approval phase through order placement and acknowledgment.
- Manages Strategic Partner open backlog to ensure timely delivery of products and minimize past dues.
- Identification and selection of cost-effective logistics providers.
- Clear and concise communication with both internal and external contacts.
- Schedules regular calls with supplier base.
- Recommends and creates inventory planning models to satisfy customer demands and optimize turns.
- Processes unique purchasing transactions according to company policy and ASA or ISO standards, industry specifications, and government regulations.
- Identifies and selects strategic suppliers to procure products, meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality and delivery date.
- In some instances, the Buyer will be responsible for the oversite of customs clearance requirements.
- Works with Product Management to ensure the correct products are in place to achieve sales forecast and order fill rates.
- KPI’s: Product Line Sales to Forecast, Order Fill Rates, Supplier Delivery Performance and Inventory Turns.
- Supports kitting programs with sourcing components and releasing jobs into production.
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with suppliers and internal personnel.
- Inventory planning and freight cost reduction.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, inventory management, or logistics.
- Experience with purchasing regulations and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external contacts.
- Knowledge of FAA approved alternative parts and PMA processes.
