About the role
Wedlake Enclosure Systems is hiring a Buyer to support purchasing and supply chain operations in their fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for procuring raw materials, components, and services necessary to support manufacturing operations while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.
Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and purchase materials, equipment, and services from approved suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve the best overall value.
- Issue and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent production disruptions.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while evaluating performance based on quality, cost, and delivery.
- Resolve supplier issues, including shortages, quality concerns, and delivery delays.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and inventory teams to forecast material requirements and support production planning.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supply chain efficiencies.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Stay informed of market trends, material availability, and pricing fluctuations that may impact operations.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with inventory, receiving, or material coordination.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Professional Certifications: Possession of relevant certifications such as APICS CPIM, CSCP, or similar.
