Essential Responsibilities
- Manage daily procurement activities, including purchase planning, Request for Quotation and other relevant information, PO issuing, and other task allocation.
- Support the Purchasing Manager in the implementation of purchasing strategies.
- Key performance objectives include timely placement of purchase orders, on-time delivery, adherence to inventory strategies, and performing timely inventory analysis.
- Maintain supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation to ensure a 3-way match can be performed for both internal and external audit purposes.
- Solve any inventory QC issues with suppliers, as needed.
- Structure to improve purchasing systems and processes; for example, quote and item management processes to gain efficiencies and responsiveness.
- Negotiate with key suppliers about pricing and product availability as necessary.
- Forecasting activities at the raw material component level utilizing ERP forecasting transaction codes in conjunction with budget and sales forecasting provided by management.
- Implement and update master files in the ERP system including but not limited to purchasing requirements, lead time, etc.
- Cook with sales, engineering, and production to expedite new part setup, expedited orders, and supplier lead-time.
- Aid in BOM maintenance for assigned suppliers and/or assist the Purchasing Manager in: Standardize description(s), Min/Max requirements, Re-order point quantities, Planned Delivery Times, Correct weights, lot sizes, etc.
- Create/Report daily production schedules and monitor with supervisors for material availability to support production requirements.
- Review forecast and customer demand to maintain and report monthly production forecast.
- Daily cycle counting, if needed.
- Manage overbuilt/slow-moving and E&O inventory for assigned suppliers.
- Supplier contract/quote administration as assigned.
- Other special projects or duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- 2+ years of purchasing experience required; similar work experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
- Must be able to work on-site & be very organized and detail oriented.
- Strong verbal & written communication skills.
- Able to work independently to perform quality work within deadlines.
- Ethical and work with integrity. Positive attitude & hard-working.
- Proficient in English and Chinese is required.
- Complete literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
Training & Education
- Associate’s degree in supply chain or a related field, or higher education.
- Strong experience with MS suites (Excel, Word) and ERP systems (NetSuite).
