About the role
TruCut is seeking a full-time Buyer to join our Purchasing Department. This role is hourly, non-exempt, and eligible for overtime pay.
Responsibilities
- Utilize previous purchasing experience to acquire both direct and indirect materials, including steel, corrugated packaging, and various other items.
- Sourcing, negotiating, and qualifying potential suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Work with MRP data to determine appropriate purchase order quantities and delivery schedules for assigned items and vendors.
- Request and evaluate quotations, and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery timelines with suppliers.
- Convert MRO requisitions into purchase orders efficiently and accurately.
- Review receiving documentation and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain and update vendor master data while developing and sustaining strong supplier relationships.
- Leverage purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive process improvements within the supply chain.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business administration, or a related field.
- Four or more years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
- The ability to pay attention to details and exhibit excellent organizational skills.
