Position Summary
Essential Functions
- Represent TopRx in negotiating purchases with suppliers.
- Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders using BlueRidge Global supply replenishment system.
- Set up new item numbers as needed.
- Participate in the development of specifications for products and/or substitute items materials.
- Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
- Prepare reports regarding market conditions and merchandise cost.
- Aid in the solicitation and response to supplier short-dated product offerings.
- Aid in the research and completion of purchasing help desk requests.
- Aid and facilitate the development of SKU growth.
- Aid and facilitate the processing of item special order requests.
- Work with suppliers on expediting deliveries and managing product out-of-stock and backorders.
- Cross-train with other members of the Procurement team to gain functional knowledge of all positions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities
- Education: Bachelor’s degree; or work experience; Preferred a combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Three+ years of experience as a Buyer in a Procurement Department.
- Computer Skills: Must be proficient in Microsoft suite of products including Excel, Word, and Outlook; must possess the ability to learn and master computer systems used within the company daily (working knowledge of AS400 a plus).
