About the role
TAIT is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team in Lititz. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain processes, contract management, and vendor relationship management.
Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate suppliers for products based on quality, cost, and delivery schedules.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to secure competitive rates and favorable terms.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent product quality and on-time delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams to forecast demand and prevent stock shortages.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Source and evaluate third-party service providers to meet business needs.
- Draft and manage service agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Negotiate service terms, performance metrics, and pricing to align with business objectives.
- Monitor service provider performance, addressing issues and improving service delivery where necessary.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize service quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., project management, engineering, finance, operations, legal) to understand business requirements and align purchasing strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, supplier agreements, and performance evaluations.
- Identify and mitigate procurement risks through proactive supplier management and contingency planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Experience managing both product and service contracts.
- Proficiency in ERP software (currently Epicor) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Preferred qualifications include experience in global sourcing and working with international suppliers, knowledge of contract law and compliance standards, and certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CIPS).
