Robert Half is partnering with a growing electronics manufacturing company in Hamden, CT, to identify a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer. This position is responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and ensuring the timely procurement of components needed to support production schedules. The ideal candidate will have purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment and strong vendor management skills.ResponsibilitiesSource and procure electronic components, raw materials, and production suppliesNegotiate pricing, contracts, delivery schedules, and terms with suppliersCreate and manage purchase orders while ensuring accuracy and timely processingMonitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities to meet production demandsMaintain strong relationships with vendors and evaluate supplier performanceCollaborate with production, engineering, and planning teams to forecast material requirementsTrack open purchase orders and expedite critical deliveries as neededAnalyze purchasing data and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvementsResolve supplier, pricing, quality, and delivery issuesMaintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with company policiesSupport inventory control initiatives and cycle count activitiesAssist with new product launches by sourcing materials and qualifying suppliers QualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience purchasing electronic components, circuit boards, or related materials preferredStrong negotiation and supplier relationship management skillsKnowledge of inventory management and supply chain best practicesExperience working with ERP/MRP systemsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applicationsExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentWhat We OfferOpportunity to join an innovative electronics manufacturing organizationExposure to complex supply chain and procurement operationsCollaborative and team-oriented work environmentCompetitive compensation based on experiencePotential for long-term career growth and advancementBenefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
