Responsibilities

• Support daily production requirements across multiple manufacturing locations.
• Partner with Operation’s Planning community to execute the business plan for world-class customer service.
• Manage day-to-day procurement activities to ensure on-time deliveries, inventory levels, and supplier relationship management.
• Purchase a wide array of inventory items using ERP.
• Monitor supplier performance by evaluating quality, cost, delivery, and inventory metrics.
• Affirm replenishment parameters to support customers and inventory management and optimization.
• Work with suppliers to identify improvement opportunities in terms of cost, quality, delivery, and lead time.
• Resolve pricing and receiving discrepancies with vendors and coordinate with the accounts payable department.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics, quantitative fields or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
• Computer savvy: Knowledgeable with ERP, Excel, MS Office Suite, etc.
• Ability to read engineering blueprints and understand manufacturing processes.
• Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). Professional phone etiquette is a must.
• Self-motivated and possesses the ability to complete tasks on-time and with little to no supervision.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of purchasing terminology and practices, analytical, mathematical skills, negotiation skills, and application of purchasing cost reduction methods.
• Material requirements planning (MRP) system proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

• APICS/CPM/CPIM/CSCP or equivalent certification desirable.

Schedule

This is an onsite role at our Elon, North Carolina campus with a base schedule of Monday through Friday, first shift.
