Rantec is hiring a Buyer based in Los Osos, California. The company offers competitive wages, great benefits, and a unique 9/80 schedule.

Responsibilities

• Manage materials to support development and production activities
• Plan and procure materials using MRP system
• Maintain material availability information
• Interface with suppliers to quote, negotiate, place and monitor orders
• Support bid and proposal efforts with quotations and cost estimation
• Identify new and alternate suppliers when necessary
• Support supplier quality by assisting in processing corrective actions and working as an advocate for suppliers
• Obtain material availability and pricing information for new products
• Interface with personnel from various departments
• Work flexible hours as needed
• Work safely and professionally, adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, State and Federal Regulations
• Absolutely arrive on time and work each day as scheduled
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• BS degree or related degree preferred
• 3 years procurement experience preferred
• Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and related reports a plus
• Ability to read and extract relevant information from engineering drawings
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Qualifications

• Access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology and services requires compliance with ITAR regulations and obtaining the necessary export authorization license from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security, U.S. Department of State’s Office of Defense Trade Controls, or other applicable government agency.
