About the role
Position Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the ordering process by reviewing approved requisitions and converting them into Purchase Orders (PO) with the best source.
- Confirm POs with suppliers and expedite as necessary to ensure they fulfill the needs of the requestor.
- Drive compliance in preferred supplier selection and other terms for purchased goods and materials.
- Maintain and execute on a portfolio of saving projects to support the company's spend efficiency and cost savings initiatives.
- Participate in supplier selection and onboarding activities.
- Develop/foster cross-functional relationships to better understand current and future requirements and provide feedback to the business.
- Identify potential new supply sources to increase competition for future project needs.
- Direct discussions with inspection or quality control personnel, users, and suppliers regarding defective or unacceptable goods or services.
- Periodically review open orders to determine if expediting, cancellation, or closure is necessary.
- Ensure required follow-up is completed and act as the liaison with accounting and operations to resolve discrepancies.
- Responsible for ensuring ongoing cost reduction and encouraging continuous supplier improvement.
- Utilize quantitative skills to analyze, validate, and manage large amounts of data, specifically for problem solving, project support, and trend analysis of multi-projects.
- Enforce compliance of internal control practices for activities performed under the purchasing functions, including requisitions and approvals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience working in manufacturing and/or operations environments.
- Experience with spot purchases, procurement, and supply agreements is preferred.
- Strong computer skills and data management, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Coupa, SAP, ERP, and e-sourcing tools are a plus.
- Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing environments and variables.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills with cross-functional groups.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
