Buyer

About the role

The Buyer role at Molex is based in Caldwell, Idaho. This position reports to the Materials Manager and involves external interactions with suppliers and vendors, and internal collaboration with different departments. The primary responsibility is to procure and manage the inventory of raw materials needed for manufacturing a low volume/high mix niche product.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and approve suppliers to ensure they meet our requirements
• Negotiate prices and delivery terms with suppliers
• Prepare and place purchase orders for manufacturing
• Maintain records for inventory of parts
• Support Total Quality Management (TQM) and relevant FDA and ISO requirements

Requirements

• Experience purchasing materials in an Inventory or Manufacturing environment
• Three (3) years or more experience purchasing materials for a production environment
• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience with international suppliers
• Experience using an ERP system
• Ability to read blueprints/engineering drawings
