About the role

Responsible for procuring goods and services for assigned areas at the lowest cost appropriate. Maintains communication with vendors and department, researches competitive prices and services, and assists with the preparation of electronic purchase orders. Coordinates purchase orders and prices of materials, equipment and/or services. Maintains bid files for reference and audit purposes, and prepares and/or analyzes reports of purchasing activities.

What a Day Looks Like

• Covers purchasing activities.
• Makes or coordinates necessary advertisements and public notices.
• Evaluates products.
• Monitors College purchasing expenditures.
• Processes requisitions and prepares purchase orders.
• Administers purchasing policies and procedures.
• Answers questions and resolves problems of personnel participating in activities.
• Conducts end-user trainings.
• Designs complex spreadsheets, with multiple function formulas and links.
• Maintains bid files for reference and audit purposes.
• Monitors, evaluates and coordinates services provided by outside vendors.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: Associate’s degree or two years of college coursework, or related experience accepted in lieu of degree. One year related experience.
• Knowledge: Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.
• Skills: Skilled In Delivering a high level of customer service. Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management. Promoting cooperative behavior and team efforts.
• Other: Ability To Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service. Research information for problem solving.

Pay

The minimum base pay for this position starts at $19.52 per hour; however, the offer may vary based on the candidate’s education and experience.
