About the role

We are seeking a Buyer to join OmniCable’s Supply Chain/Purchasing Department. This role involves all aspects of inventory management, including vendor relations, quoting, purchase order placement, expediting, price negotiations, and collaboration with sales teams. The successful candidate will proactively manage inventory levels through continuous tracking and analysis of sales trends across our distribution centers.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day procurement activities to support company-wide inventory management needs.
• Maintain product systems in the Inventory Management System (IMS).
• Manage Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) reporting to achieve inventory turns targets and maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with existing vendors.
• Report on key inventory KPIs.
• Negotiate vendor pricing.
• Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure inventory needs are met at each branch location.

Requirements

• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of education and equivalent work experience (preferred).
• Experience in a Procurement/Purchasing role.
• In-depth understanding of distribution workplaces.
• Experience working within an Inventory Management System (IMS) such as Infor, Manhattan, Blue Ridge, or SAP.
• Inventory control experience in a warehouse setting (preferred).
