Responsibilities

  • Identify material needs and item reviews
  • Supplier qualification
  • Request quotes
  • Place purchase orders
  • Secure favorable terms and pricing
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors
  • Audit vendor performance
  • Monitor inventory levels
  • Track order status
  • Expedite or defer shipments as needed
  • Manage material flow to maintain proper stocking levels
  • Stay current with market trends and pricing
  • Seek cost-saving opportunities
  • Ensure materials meet quality standards
  • Handle order discrepancies
  • Proactively resolve discrepancies between POs and invoices
  • Handle returns for defective materials
  • Resolve supply chain bottlenecks

Qualifications

  • Requires a BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience in procurement or related field
  • With a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience
  • Proficient and proven experience with ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards E1) and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong negotiation, analytical problem-solving, and communication skills
