Responsibilities

  • Manage current Supplier relationships and drive continuous improvements for best in class performance.
  • Discover and develop new strategic Suppliers.
  • Develop and implement risk management processes to support Production.
  • Track markets and purchase materials at competitive prices.
  • Ensure procurement of quality materials.
  • Meet inventory goals by procuring optimal quantities using forecasts and risk mitigations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ of material purchasing with ownership of cost, delivery, and quality.
  • Minimum 3 years’ in the recycled or prime plastics industry of Polypropylene and Polyethylene, specifically virgin or post-industrial/post-consumer recycled materials.
  • Experience leading negotiations of price, material specifications, terms, and lead times.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to present summarized data to management.

Desired Skills

  • Strong communication skills and ability to problem solve with internal and external teams.
  • Experience with plastics, grinding, and extrusion operations.
  • Exposure to plastics supplier negotiations, markets, contracts, and pricing agreements.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through in a fast paced environment.
  • Degree in Business Management or Supply Chain.
  • CPSM, CSCP, or CPIM Certification.
  • Utilized JDEdwards Enterprise One.
